Not too shabby at all eh? And to think…I wasn’t even considering to go to the GOTYE show last night. Good thing a good friend told me that there was a ticket for me the day before! Thanks dude! =)
A bunch of us went to GOTYE last night at the Kool Haus in TORONTO! Not even being completey packed full of people, last night’s show turned out to be an epic adventure that was definately bestowed upon us, by the calm and dramatic grooves of GOTYE! The show wasn’t quite sold out, but it was definately packed with just the right amount of people; more importantly though, it was full of the KIND of people, to make it the night it was! Grooooovay!!!
So after celebrating Kev’s 31st at his sister’s place with his family, Kev and I headed out for a splendid night! We met up with some more friends at the Kool Haus and started our night off at the bar! Then more friends showed up! We were all having an awesome time with some awesome friends and people at the side bar; getting ready to see GOTYE, when even more friends showed up haha! Oh dear lol So it’s one of THOSE nights again huh? ….and so the night began!
Starting us off for the night was a singer/songwriter vocalist KIMBRA! This 22 year old New Zealander and her band rocked the place out last night, just enough to get everybody
all primed up for the night ahead! I personally didn’t know that much about KIMBRA before last night, but boy do I feel super stoked that I do now!!! I’m definately going to get my hands on some of her stuff soon! She reminds me of a much more energetic, sensational and I’d hate to say it because some of you already know about my OCD about her, but a much more sexier Kary Perry! KIMBRA definately knocked her off of her pedistal last night, that’s for sure. KIMBRA is awesome!
So in between sets, we all reupped our drinks, then headed out onto the floor. Justin then led the way strategically for us to own the next spot right infront of the bar in the back! Nice JD!!! GOTYE COMES ON! A bunch of us watched, listened, sang along to, laughed, grooved along with and got fuckin’ drunk together lol, with the comfortable and inspirational sound of GOTYE!!! Our exclusive “Saturday Night @ GOTYE Dance Party” host JD and all his shenanigans won top spot for the night I must say! Hahahaha you’re an an ANIMAL JD!!! The visual backdrop that GOTYE played infront of was magnificant to say the least! The erray of bright pastelly colours that panned through the floor full of pastelly looking GOTYE fans, while they sang story line after story line…then breakin’ us off some, was a sight to remember! Is pastelly even a real word? Haha! ….and so of course, the beat rolled on.
I had an extraordinary time this weekend! It was jam packed full of a best friend’s birthday which was also jam packed full of crazy celebrations, wonderful friends, a show to remember and but of course, AWESOMER TIMES with AWESOMER PEOPLE!!!! There’s nothing left to say about that.
Just please don’t forget everybody: In LESS THAN ONE WEEK, you should really tyr n’ make it a “night out on the town” with your friends and come out for a FUN CELEBRATION on SATURDAY APRIL 7th at the LEGENDARY HORSESHOE TAVERN in the centre of the universe TORONTO, for FUTURE HISTORY’S new full-length lp SELF:/LOSS’ RECORD RELEASE PARTY!!! Take my word on this my friends, it’s hard to find a sound where there’s so many uniquelly eclectic apparatuses used to create this one n’ only efficacious noise that these guys make! If there was one night where FUTURE HISTORY needed their support from their fans and wonderful friends, it would be on SATURDAY APRIL 7th!!!! All five of these guys play along to the beat of their hearts. You are apart of their heart. Let’s all come together and celebrate our Future History that we have to enjoy!
