Hello friends, how are you today? I’m tired as anything! Last night was the presale party of Future History’s new full length lp Loss:/Self at a venue called The Mansion on Main. Kev hosts an Open Mic at this fun bar every Thursday evening. This is where starting artists can hop up on stage, perform their number, have a chance to be noticed by management such as myself, professional record executives which randomly pop in for the reason that the name/talent Kevin Ker is becoming a recognized name in the business and of course, have a great night full of seriously tasty eats, quenching beverages and awesome friends! Let’s also not forget the abundance of amateur talent!!!!
Of course, last night was definately no exception. Other than the fact that their new lp being launched as a presale, and 4 special guest who are also great friends also spending the night with us! Theo Posthumus (the brilliant producer of their new lp Loss:/Self,) his lovely wife Laura, Laura’s beautiful twin sister Julie Taillon and her one-hell-of-a-guy husband Rory, all made the long treck from the Shwa to help us greet all of their excited fans and friends!
At the same time, using his super hero powers, Rory Taillon also performed a 30 min set playing some of his eclectic originals and some choice covers. Helping him on the cajon (a small but powerful wooden box,) laying down the beats for Rory was his brother in-law Theo Posthumus! Rory’s set was definately one of the best last night! Thanks for a memorable treat last night fellas!
Plenty of other amateur musicians blessed us up on stage playing their originals and choice covers all night long! Perhaps every other, or 3rd set, Kev hopped up on stage to remind us all how far he’s come as a musician and how he’s most definately becoming one of Toronto’s industry leaders!
It was most definately a good night all around and you should seriously make it out to The Mansion on Main one of these Thursday nights to display your God given talents and/or to hang out with us!
Don’t forget my friends: Loss:/Self will be released to the masses very, very soon on Saturday April 7th, 2012 at the legendary Horseshoe Tavern in Toronto! Tickets to the release party: $10 and the new lp Loss:/Self $10.
See y’all there!
Pshhhh…over n’ out.
Allan, you are awesome.
